Engineering Digital Transformation at Scale

At Unikron, we view global-scale events as a sophisticated stress test of digital infrastructure. When 35,000 participants gather in a venue like BC Place, Vancouver, the primary challenge isn't the broadcast, it is the underlying integration required to synchronize a global audience in real-time.
As the same iconic venue prepares for the FIFA World Cup 2026, we are reflecting on the digital transformation framework we implemented in the largest conference in BC Place Stadium's history.
For Unikron, this meant 12 months of integration between a live streaming platform and the client’s internal ERP systems. To support a flawless experience for participants from 133 countries, we had to build a donation system and website that complied with worldwide regulations and standards.
"Preparation starts a year in advance," says Manuel Rodriguez, who led the enterprise coordination for the project. "The biggest hurdle was creating a compliant, worldwide donation system that could handle real-time traffic while staying functional across 133 countries."
Scaling to 100,000+ viewers requires alignment among creative, financial, legal teams and event planners. Our team at Unikron comprised cloud engineers, programmers, and creatives all working in unison to create fail-safe systems in network-restricted sites at scale.
The goal is always to translate a client’s vision into technical reality. This requires gaining technical trust from engineers, legal teams, and stakeholders alike. By translating complex guidelines into technical Service Level Agreements (SLAs), we ensure that the client's vision matches our delivery commitment.
Our work with major international conventions in the U.S. and Canada has reached over one million viewers globally. This success is built on decades of implementing large complex projects.
As Christopher Cavanaugh, Publisher at AA Grapevine Inc., recently noted regarding our long-term partnership:
" I have partnered with Manuel for more than 20 years across New York, Los Angeles, Vancouver, and Toronto on some of AA’s most complex and high-visibility projects. He consistently delivers at an enterprise level, managing large audiences, critical timelines, and multi-city coordination with precision. Working with Manuel I found projects to always be on-time, on-target and on-budget."
Whether we are serving clients in our home base of Canada or partners in New York, the mission remains the same: aligning our programmers, cloud engineers, and creative team into a singular enterprise solution.
